Written for the reader

Why NDIS Website Content Is Harder to Get Right

Most NDIS websites are written for the wrong reader. They copy the language of the registration groups, so a family looking for someone to help their son get to his Saturday program reads about “assistance with social and community participation” and is not sure whether that is what they need.

The other failure runs the opposite way. A page written to sound warm ends up promising things the NDIS Code of Conduct does not allow: guaranteed outcomes, “the best provider in Melbourne”, a photo that implies participants who were never asked. Good NDIS content has to be plain enough for a participant, specific enough for a support coordinator, and safe enough for an auditor.

Our writers have written the content for NDIS websites covering supported independent living, allied health, community participation, plan management and support coordination. Every page is written by a person, not generated, and checked against the Code before it is published.

What Changes When Content Is Written for the NDIS

The page structure is the same as any service business. The words are not.

The usual way

Standard business copy

  • Reading level

    Whatever suits the brand

  • Service names

    Whatever you call them internally

  • Claims

    Best, fastest, guaranteed

  • Audience

    One customer

  • Trust signals

    Testimonials

  • Keywords

    Industry jargon

The Uniweb way

NDIS website content

  • Reading level

Plain language, short sentences, Easy Read summary where it helps

  • Service names

The words participants search for, with the registration group named once for coordinators

  • Claims

What you do, who you do it for, how to start. Nothing the Code rules out

  • Audience

Participant, family and referrer, each with their own path to a form

  • Trust signals

Registration status, provider number, service areas, worker screening, and testimonials with written consent

  • Keywords

Support type plus suburb, the way people actually type it

What’s included

What We Write for NDIS Providers

Every page below is written to be read by a participant, used by a coordinator and found by Google.

Service pages, one per support type

Community participation, in-home support, SIL, therapy, support coordination, plan management. Each page explains the support in plain words, names who it is for, and says how to get started.

About and team pages

Who you are, why you started, what you are registered for, and the people a participant will actually meet. Written to build trust, not to list qualifications.

Location and service area pages

A page for each suburb or region you genuinely service, with the local detail that makes it rank and the honest boundaries that keep coordinators trusting you.

Referral, intake and careers form copy

The wording around the forms matters as much as the fields. A coordinator should know in one line what happens after they click submit.

Easy Read summaries

Short, plain-language versions of key pages for participants with intellectual disability or low literacy, following the Easy Read conventions used across the sector.

Blog posts and FAQ content

Answers to the questions participants and families actually ask, which are the same questions Google shows featured snippets for.

Writing Inside the NDIS Code of Conduct

What we leave out

Guaranteed results. Comparisons that call you the best or the cheapest. Anything suggesting the NDIA or the NDIS Commission endorses you. Stock photos presented as your participants. Testimonials without documented consent. Each one is a compliance problem waiting for a complaint.

What we put in

Your registration status and provider number where a coordinator can see them. The registration groups you actually hold. The suburbs you actually service. Your NDIS Worker Screening Check policy. How a participant can complain, and to whom. These are the things that get you onto a shortlist.

Why plain language ranks

Google rewards pages that answer the question in the words the searcher used. A participant does not search for “assistance with daily personal activities”. They search for “support worker to help with showering”. Writing for the reader and writing for Google turn out to be the same job.

How We Write Your NDIS Content

01

Discovery call

Thirty minutes on which supports you deliver, which registration groups they sit in, where you operate and who refers to you. We also ask what you never want said about your service.

02

Keyword research

For every page, the phrases participants, families and coordinators use for that support in your area. These become the headings.

03

Draft

Written by a person on our team. Plain language, short paragraphs, one page per support type, links to your forms.

04

Compliance check and revision

Every claim checked against the Code of Conduct and the Practice Standards. One round of your changes included.

05

Publish

Uploaded, formatted and linked on your site if we host it. Delivered as a document if we do not.

NDIS Content Writing Questions Answered

Have a question we have not covered? Get in touch and we will answer it, quote or no quote.

Get in touch
Is the content written by a person or by AI?

By a person on our team. We use software to check readability and to research keywords, but the writing is done by someone who has written for NDIS providers before and knows what the Code of Conduct rules out.

What does NDIS website content cost?

It is included in the $1,650 Professional and $2,750 Complete website packages, which cover up to ten pages. For an existing site we quote per page once we have seen which pages need a rewrite and which need a light edit. Ongoing blog content is part of our NDIS SEO plans from $990 a month.

Can you write in plain language and Easy Read?

Yes. Every page is written in plain language as standard. Easy Read summaries, with short sentences and supporting images, are quoted per page and are worth having for your key service pages.

How do you make sure the content is compliant?

Every draft is checked against the NDIS Code of Conduct and the Practice Standards before it reaches you. We do not use guaranteed outcomes, superlatives, implied NDIA endorsement, or testimonials without consent.

Will the content help us rank on Google?

It is written with the keywords participants and coordinators use in your area, structured with proper headings, and given a meta title and description. That is what on-page SEO is. Ranking for competitive terms also needs links and time, which is what NDIS SEO is for.

Can you rewrite our existing pages instead of starting again?

Yes. Send us the pages and we tell you which ones need a rewrite and which need a light edit. Most existing NDIS sites need three or four pages rewritten and the rest tidied.
